What happened at Elbow Lake?
Day 1 and 2.
I left town on Wednesday July 23.
On my way out of town I did stop to pick up my cousin Grace. She was very excited to be leaving her 2 younger brothers behind for 5 days!!!!
We got to Elbow Lake around 5pm that evening. Dad and Grandpa were waiting there for us. Dad, Grandpa, and Grace took the pontoon over to the island and got Grandpa's hearing aids and the other pontoon boat. Grace got to drive it all the way back.
Grandpa stayed for a cup of coffee and a couple cookies and then headed back to town.
Grace and I then cleaned off the paddle boat and went for a short ride. Came back to the cabin and had cheese balls and orange pop for dinner.
Thursday was a rainy day. We trimmed a few branches and went to town to get the rv. After a stop to see Gramps we headed back out. Grace rode with Pete in the rv.
Back at the cabin I helped Grace start her very 1st napkin house.
Thinking of Grandma!
At about 4:30 we all got in the car and drove to the
Vince Shute Animal Sanctuary.
The sun was just beginning to come out as we arrived.
And so were the baby bears.
The sanctuary used to be a logging camp where the bears were fed to keep them out of the cabins. Now volunteers staff the place and help educate people about the bears.
Four little cubs up in the tree while mom ate on the ground.
